About Me

My name is Mariana, or Mari. I’m 24 and live in Charlotte, North Carolina. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina(Go Cocks!). Although I live in the States, I have Brazilian blood. I’m proud to be Brazilian and I really think I was born in the wrong country, ha. I have a Brazilian state of mind. I am fluent in English, and learning Portuguese. Next I’ll start studying Spanish. I’ve lived in 7 states throughout my life. I work at a bank and in a church. I love my little cousins (and the rest of my family), my pets, the beach, rock and classical music (especially shows and concert - but I love all live music), any kind of art, reading & audio books (especially James Patterson and Jodi Picoult, playing piano, video games, the moon, sparklers, cooking, Porto Alegre, Brazil, and nail polish. I tend to get obsessive over things that I like. I am one of the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fans you will EVER meet and I support Brazil and the USA in international sports. I love college basketball, soccer, the Olympics, and live sporting events of any kind (even baseball, and I don’t like baseball). I do like to go out, but now-a-days I’d rather stay in. I lost my mom in March of 2008, and it still hurts me every single day. I am a defender of the defenseless. Whenever I see someone being bullied for whatever reason, I always feel the need to step in and try to make it stop. I hope that’s a good thing, but I know it isn’t always. I love Desperate Housewives, 90210, Family Guy, Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, and others. My favorite movies are Little Miss Sunshine and Chocolat. I’ve been through a lot of crap in my life (abuse, bullying, injury, depression, divorce, death), and although I am still trying to deal every single day, I feel like it’s made me stronger. I’m not afraid to go against the grain and stand out in the crowd. I will definitely speak my opinions, but I’ll also try to respect yours. My goal in life is to help people. If you ever need anyone to talk to, anonymously or not, I’ll always listen and do whatever I can to help. Life is precious and I try to live like that every single day. Oh, and I absolutely ABHOR the iPhone commercials - they are so obnoxious. Yes, that’s important enough to put in here. Have a fantastic day!
